NetworkingWell in designing the new office that we were moving to - we had a major project to develop an internal network for our core internal employees. We decided to go with CAT6 for all the wiring, ensuring us a smooth transition into the gigabit network where our colleagues could move internal data 10x's faster than our old office. In thinking this, i did believe the transition was going to be more complicated for the IT Guys involved, and I would be completly wrong. Overall - from punching down the patch panel through hooking up each node on the network, it was rather easy - too easy. Going through the whole CAT6 pain of trying to convince the right people that it is the best option was by far the best move. We are now able to move data at much higher rates thus improving work efficiency - god i sound awful. All in all its one way to appreciate the things that were completed and people use consistently throughout the day.
